HMS Hops: Bristol Boat & Brewery Beer Tasting

HMS Hops: Bristol Boat & Brewery Beer Tasting

It hath been noted that there is nothing more enthralling than a journey beer. Whether travelling by boat, train, air, or swigging on a swegway - you just can’t beat it (unless you are on a swegway and then you can get in the sea. Off you go. Piss off) For the rest of us. The good citizens of Bristol and surrounding outlying villages and hamlets, there be some mighty good news. The newly formed 'Bristol Brewery Tours' are launching a boat and perambulation (that’s walking) based tour for which you can purchase yourself a ticket in return for some pennies. Pennies that were likely to have been spent on beer anyways I should hazard to note.

The route of this epic voyage starts at Millennium Square and then on to the ferry boarding point near the Grain Barge where ‘HMS Hops’ will set sail on her maiden voyage along the Bristol waterfront on route to Moor Beer Co.’s brewery. Tis' a treacherous and arduous voyage it shall be known. Yet there is great reward.

On board the fully licensed ferry (which forthwith I shall be referring to as the Half-cut-ty sark), guests (also from  forthwith I shall be referring to as Shipmates) will be treated to a very special tasting from none other than Wiper & True (whose name shall remain the same for legal reasons). Shipmates will then take a short walk to the Moor Beer Co. brewery taproom to sample their wonderful range of award winning beers which you may have tasted at a growing variety of locations around Bristol including Meatliquor, Three Brothers and many more high quality establishments.

The tour (or quest) will then continue with a walk (or shore expedition) back to the home of craft beer in Bristol, King Street, where Duncan and his team at Beer Emporium will be arranging a very special tasting of local beers upon arrival. The whole concept of the Bristol tours has been brought to the city by London Brewery Tours who have been introducing guests to Bermondsey and Hackney breweries since September 2014.

The first tour is sold out (nawwwwwww), but you can get tickets for the next dates here. (whaaaaay!)
